The Nation's Capital. What's not to love?! We arrived in the evening and had to go to the heart of the city to see the White House for the first time. John and I have always wanted to see DC and loved every second! The kids loved scootering around the city seeing all of the historical sites. We saw Washington Monument, took a tour of the White House, the Library of Congress (one of my personal favorites), the Capitol, Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum (the kids loved seeing the large space carriers, making paper airplanes, operating a small wind simulated plane), Lincoln's Memorial (our TRUE favorite...so special walking in there and reading through the inscriptions), and Celebrated John's 31st birthday!! Celebrating on vacation equates to John picking the places to eat and doing what he wanted. We sure are lucky to have a wonderful, fun loving guy!!
